What are the changes coming to the program CHFA?
TAWANA'S ANSWER:
The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority (CHFA) offers a variety of home loans for eligible first-time homebuyers, including down payment assistance (DAP). Unfortunately, as of April 1, 2018, CHFA will no longer allow closing costs to be part of the Down Payment assistance loan. You (buyer) will only be able to finance the down payment required for a particular program. We may not go over 100% of the purchase price. For FHA we can get 6% from the Seller so the out of pocket will be significantly less.
